About the Role

Eram Talent is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer specializing in HVAC with core experience in petrochemical plants. This contract position is based in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, availability, and performance of HVAC and Mechanical Refrigeration Units (MRUs) that serve critical petrochemical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs, troubleshooting activities, and reliability improvement initiatives. Specific responsibilities include:

• Maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing HVAC, chiller, and industrial refrigeration systems within petrochemical and process plant environments.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, refrigeration, and control-related failures to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability.
• Analyzing operating parameters, including temperature, pressure, flow, superheat, subcooling, and compressor performance, to identify system abnormalities and implement corrective actions.
• Performing equipment performance evaluations, condition assessments, and reliability improvements to minimize downtime and optimize energy efficiency.
• Conducting Root Cause Investigation (RCI) for critical and repetitive equipment failures and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Technical Expertise

Candidates must possess hands-on expertise with a range of equipment and systems, including:

• Mechanical Refrigeration Units (MRUs), centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating chillers, AHUs, package units, ventilation systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and pumps.
• Refrigeration control systems and Building Management Systems (BMS), including monitoring equipment performance, troubleshooting control logic, analyzing alarms, optimizing system operation, and integrating HVAC assets with centralized monitoring and control platforms.
• Proficiency in interpreting HVAC/refrigeration schematics, P&IDs, electrical drawings, and OEM technical documentation.

Maintenance Program Development

The engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing maintenance strategies to ensure operational efficiency:

• Developing and optimizing preventive maintenance programs based on equipment criticality and reliability data.
• Ensuring the timely completion of maintenance plans and work orders.

Spare Parts Management

This role includes optimizing spare parts inventory to support uninterrupted operations:

• Reviewing and optimizing HVAC spare parts inventory.
• Identifying critical and insurance spare parts requirements.
• Establishing minimum and maximum inventory levels based on risk and lead times.
• Coordinating with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure spare part availability.
• Supporting obsolescence management and spare part standardization initiatives.

Safety and Compliance

Adherence to safety regulations and engineering standards is a critical aspect of this position:

• Ensuring compliance with company safety regulations and engineering standards.
• Participating in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), risk assessments, and incident investigations when required.
• Supporting process safety requirements related to HVAC systems serving critical occupied buildings.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, specifically with HVAC systems in petrochemical or similar heavy industrial environments, is required for this role.
