About the Role

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Lead Process Engineer for a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This role is central to the design and engineering of process units, pipelines, utilities, and offsite facilities for medium to large-scale projects, spanning from conceptual stages through detailed design. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and ensure design integrity within the process engineering scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 10 to 15 Process Engineers and related discipline engineers and designers.
• Define project scope, including all process deliverables.
• Review and approve critical process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, Design Basis documents, Process Narratives, Process Calculations, and Equipment Specification documents.
• Review and approve process engineering work plans and basis of design documents.
• Estimate work-hours for process engineering tasks.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team, including direct interaction with clients.
• Ensure the design integrity of the process engineering scope, manage the performance of assigned staff, and oversee on-schedule delivery of work within budget.
• Lead technical presentations to clients and their representatives as required.
• Serve as a primary technical resource for Process Engineers and related discipline engineers and designers.
• Provide technical oversight to ensure correct application of applicable procedures and standards (client, KBR, and international).

Required Experience and Expertise

Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering, demonstrating a proven track record in the design of process units, pipelines, utilities, and offsite facilities. This includes experience from conceptual stage through detailed design of medium to large-size projects. A minimum of 5 years of experience in HYSYS simulation of upstream Oil and Gas projects is also required. Thorough knowledge of projects/process engineering practices, economic principles, calculation methods, international standards, codes, specifications, and procedures is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or a related field.

Reporting Structure

The Lead Process Engineer reports directly to both Discipline Management and Project Management, ensuring alignment with both technical standards and project objectives. This role involves significant leadership responsibilities within the engineering team.
