Role Overview

The Sr. Rotating Equipment Engineer provides technical support to customers, sales teams, service centers, and warranty teams. This role focuses on identifying opportunities for upgrades and services, primarily within the Oil & Gas, Power, and Water industries. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers and front-end teams, including responding to technical queries and attending meetings for clarifications.
• Offer technical support to service centers and field service, which involves reviewing inspection reports, recommending repair methods, identifying potential causes of failure, and suggesting upgrades.
• Provide guidance for the strip-down, assembly, and setting of complex equipment, and assist with instructions for complex commissioning or troubleshooting.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis by gathering data, reviewing site reports, and preparing detailed analysis reports with recommendations.
• Perform on-site performance assessments, including taking measurements with specialized equipment, analyzing collected data, and preparing detailed reports.
• Liaise with Sulzer factories and overseas engineering teams for additional equipment information to address customer queries or support analyses.
• Collaborate with Sales, Tendering, and Engineering to develop repair and retrofit proposals that meet customer requirements.
• Oversee and arrange drawings, Bills of Material, and specifications for detailed engineering required for equipment modification and upgrades in service centers.
• Conduct or supervise reverse engineering of components using conventional measuring tools and 3D scanning.
• Support warranty teams with issues encountered during installation, commissioning, operation, and repair of rotating equipment.
• Assist in warranty claim investigations, including troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, and preparing technical reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical support and solutions in industrial environments.
• Experience with root cause failure analysis and performance assessment methodologies.
• Proficiency in liaising with various internal and external stakeholders.
