Role Overview

Penspen is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its team in Khafji, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing technical oversight and review for major Oil and Gas/Petrochemical projects, focusing on static mechanical equipment deliverables from EPC contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and review of EPC contractor deliverables related to static mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and columns.
• Review design calculations, datasheets, and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes (ASME, API, TEMA) and project standards.
• Verify material selection, design thickness, and mechanical integrity of equipment.
• Review vendor documentation and participate in technical bid evaluations and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
• Monitor EPC contractor progress, assess deviations, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
• Ensure that mechanical designs meet safety, operability, and maintainability requirements.
• Support field inspections and mechanical completion activities, ensuring adherence to quality of deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of twelve (12) years of overall experience.
• At least six (6) years of experience specifically within the field of Mechanical Engineering for major Oil and Gas/Petrochemical projects.

Work Location

This position is based in Al Khafji, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia.
