The Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating)

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) to join its engineering team. This is a contract position based in Al Khobar, Eastern Region, and will focus on a major Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project. The role involves leading rotating equipment engineering activities and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead rotating equipment engineering activities for FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases of oil & gas projects.
• Develop data sheets, specifications, and requisitions for rotating equipment, including compressors, pumps, turbines, blowers, and packaged systems.
• Review vendor offers, perform technical bid evaluations, and participate in vendor meetings and design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO, and other relevant international standards.
• Coordinate with process, piping, instrumentation, and electrical disciplines for equipment integration.
• Review vendor documents (GA drawings, datasheets, performance curves) and ensure timely approval.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and design review workshops.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their deliverables for quality and accuracy.
• Support client and internal audits and ensure adherence to project quality and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically with rotating equipment.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards is an advantage.
• Experience in major brownfield FEED/EPC projects is an advantage.

Compensation

Salary for this position is negotiable and will depend on the candidate's experience.
