About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Field Services Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to ensuring the operational excellence of our equipment at customer sites, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and technical support of motors and variable speed drive systems.

Role Purpose

The Field Services Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering expert technical services directly at customer locations. This involves hands-on execution of complex technical tasks, providing essential guidance, and ensuring the long-term reliability and performance of GE Vernova's industrial systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of Variable Speed Drives systems (VSI, Static Var Compensation, Static Frequency Controllers), synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation, and AVR systems.
• Respond promptly to requests for emergency repairs and services, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
• Provide comprehensive technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance procedures at their sites.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset throughout all operations, ensuring executed work strictly adheres to GE safety standards and technical requirements.

Documentation and Reporting

• Write comprehensive technical reports for customer records and as a reference for future outages, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage administrative tasks including ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job status reports, customer reports, time sheets, and expense sheets completely and thoroughly.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in field services, specifically involving motors and variable speed drive systems.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to work independently at customer sites and manage multiple tasks effectively under varying conditions.

This role primarily involves working at various customer sites, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The position is based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and emphasizes a consistent focus on safety protocols and technical excellence in all field operations.
