About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Engineer Field Services to join our team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time position is dedicated to performing essential service and maintenance activities directly at customer sites. The role contributes to maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing sold or existing products, encompassing all types of maintenance services, managing maintenance facilities, and providing field technical support.

Core Responsibilities

As a Lead Engineer Field Services, you will be responsible for the quality of your work, operating under direct operational supervision and adhering to prescribed work instructions and system verification. Your tasks will be performed within a well-defined operational framework, following detailed sequences of standard operational tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing on-site life extensions, repairs, and inspection-related service activities for installed fleets.
  • Providing supervision for the construction and commissioning of new and existing equipment at customer sites.
  • Performing various maintenance services, including preventive and corrective actions.
  • Managing maintenance facilities and delivering field technical services.

Technical Scope

This role requires hands-on involvement in a broad range of technical services. You will be expected to apply conceptual knowledge of your professional discipline and contribute specialized expertise. Specific technical areas include:

  • On-site machining and non-destructive testing.
  • Working with blades, windings, and critical welds.
  • Performing generator diagnostics.
  • Making engineering decisions within the scope of your responsibilities.

Problem Solving and Collaboration

You will be expected to solve problems using established procedures, consulting supervisors or more experienced team members for issues outside defined instructions or parameters. Collaboration is key, as you will work with colleagues to address challenges. For customer-facing aspects of the role, you will:

  • Develop strong customer relationships.
  • Serve as an interface between the customer and GE Vernova.
  • Exchange technical information, ask clarifying questions, and verify understanding.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor's degree (or a high school diploma with experience in a relevant field).
  • Basic experience in the function, typically 0-1 years, suitable for graduate engineers.
  • Ability to apply business management knowledge acquired through studies or previous experience.
  • An understanding of how your team's work contributes to the broader field.
