The Role of Procurement Manager

MGT Contracting is seeking a Procurement Manager to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for overseeing all procurement activities that support MGT’s engineering and contracting projects. The role ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services, directly contributing to project reliability and success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end procurement activities for engineering and contracting projects.
• Source and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
• Manage requests for quotation (RFQs) and analyze bids.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
• Ensure the timely delivery of materials and services in alignment with project schedules and quality standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and finance to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and implement cost-effective procurement strategies.
• Manage purchase orders from creation to fulfillment.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against established metrics.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive procurement records.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
• Secure materials and services that meet technical specifications, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in procurement.
• Demonstrated experience in engineering, construction, or industrial project procurement is highly beneficial.
• Strong skills in procurement and supplier evaluation to source, assess, and select reliable vendors and materials.
• Proficiency in contract negotiation and contract management to secure favorable terms and manage agreements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Robust analytical skills to interpret data, control costs, assess risks, and support informed purchasing decisions.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills for working with internal teams, suppliers, and partners.
• Solid organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of procurement software/ERP systems is beneficial.
• Familiarity with quality and safety standards applicable to industrial and commercial projects is beneficial.

Work Location

This is an on-site position based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, requiring daily presence at the company's facilities to effectively manage procurement operations and collaborate with project teams.
