About the Role

Exergy is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to develop business in the Eastern region, specifically Dammam. This full-time role focuses on on-site machining, field engineering, and precision engineering services. The position requires 2-5 years of experience in technical sales within industrial maintenance and engineering environments.

Role Overview

This is a technically focused commercial role. The successful candidate will engage with customers to understand their technical requirements and convert opportunities into projects. Responsibilities include developing new business opportunities and managing customer relationships across sectors such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Steel, Marine, and Heavy Industry.

Key Responsibilities

Developing new business for on-site machining, workshop machining, and field engineering services.
Identifying and developing relationships with industrial customers and key decision-makers.
Conducting customer visits, technical presentations, and site assessments.
Reviewing enquiries, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
Collaborating with engineering and operations teams to develop technical and commercial proposals.
Preparing quotations, tenders, and cost estimates.
Negotiating pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
Following projects through execution to ensure customer satisfaction and identify further opportunities.
Maintaining an accurate pipeline of opportunities, quotations, and customer activity.
Achieving agreed sales targets and contributing to business growth.
Attending industry exhibitions, shutdown planning meetings, and customer networking events.
Monitoring market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities.

Qualifications and Requirements

3–5+ years of experience in technical sales, industrial services, field machining, maintenance, rotating equipment, or a related engineering environment.
Experience within the UAE/GCC industrial market.
Technical understanding of on-site machining technologies and applications.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, machining tolerances, and technical specifications.
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industrial maintenance.
Experience dealing with customers in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Steel, Marine, or other heavy industrial sectors.
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Strong commercial, communication, and negotiation skills.
Comfortable working with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites, industrial plants, and project locations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will combine hands-on industrial/engineering knowledge with proven technical sales experience. This role requires an individual comfortable assessing customer problems in industrial facilities such as refineries, petrochemical plants, or power stations, and working with internal engineering teams to develop practical solutions. Experience selling on-site machining, field machining, mechanical maintenance, or related industrial services is highly valued.
