About the Role: AIX / SARIE System Administrator

Nexus Global is seeking an experienced AIX / SARIE System Administrator to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is dedicated to providing comprehensive administration, monitoring, operational support, preventive maintenance, and production support for a bank's critical SARIE / RTGS payment infrastructure.

Role Purpose and Scope

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day health and availability of the IBM AIX environment and SARIE Gateway. This includes managing gateway processes, database services, communication links, message streams, daily backup and recovery activities, HSM connectivity, and contingency operations. This is a production-critical banking position that requires a high level of operational discipline and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform IBM AIX System Administration and Monitoring for P5 Series environments.
• Administer the SARIE Gateway, ensuring its optimal performance and availability.
• Provide monitoring and recovery support for SARIE Sybase Database services.
• Conduct monthly light preventive maintenance and heavy preventive maintenance every three months.
• Monitor HSM (Hardware Security Module) and other security components.
• Support contingency and high-availability operations, including P5 server Primary to secondary, and Primary to DR switching activities.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant system administration role, preferably within a banking or financial services environment. The role demands strong troubleshooting skills and a disciplined approach to operational procedures.

• Proven experience with IBM AIX P5 Series and SARIE system administration.
• Demonstrated ability to perform SARIE Sybase Database monitoring and recovery.
• Expertise in managing and supporting critical payment infrastructure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for incident resolution.

Operational Environment and Demands

This position operates within a production-critical banking environment where system availability and integrity are paramount. The administrator must be capable of responding effectively to incidents that impact payment processing and connectivity with SAMA central systems, ensuring minimal disruption to services and adherence to strict operational protocols.
