About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant - Podiatry to provide specialized podiatry care within the ICC physical clinic in Riyadh. This part-time, in-person role focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a broad range of acute and chronic foot and ankle conditions, including diabetic foot complications, nail and skin conditions, and biomechanical abnormalities. The consultant will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care during scheduled clinic sessions, ensuring continuity of care and optimal clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive in-person podiatry care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for acute and chronic foot and ankle conditions.
  • Conduct detailed clinical evaluations, including history taking, biomechanical and gait assessment, and review of imaging findings.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based management plans, encompassing wound care, nail and skin procedures, orthotic prescription, and referrals.
  • Manage common podiatry conditions such as diabetic foot complications, plantar fasciitis, and biomechanical abnormalities, coordinating care with the full-time clinical team.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide integrated, patient-centered care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to ensure seamless handover and continuity of care.
  • Promote foot health through preventive counseling, diabetic foot screening, and chronic disease management.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate and complete medical documentation.
  • Contribute to clinical governance through participation in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and regulatory compliance programs.

Professional Development and EHR Proficiency

  • Maintain and enhance clinical knowledge in podiatry through continuous professional development, including conferences and CME activities.
  • Integrate the latest clinical evidence into practice to improve patient care quality, safety, and effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation in the EHR, adhering to organizational policies and data privacy regulations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the clinic's EHR system and participate in ongoing training for system enhancements.

Patient Safety and Satisfaction

  • Uphold high standards of patient safety by delivering evidence-based care and adhering to clinical safety protocols.
  • Identify, report, and escalate patient safety risks, incidents, and quality concerns.
  • Counsel patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, and potential adverse effects to support informed decision-making.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered consultations through effective communication, comprehensive assessment, empathy, and shared decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in podiatry.
  • Ability to provide specialized podiatry care for a diverse range of foot and ankle conditions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
