About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Dental Laboratory Technologist to join their team. This full-time position involves designing and fabricating various prosthodontic devices, including dentures, partials, crowns, and bridges. The role requires experience ranging from 2 to 5 years in a relevant field.

Role Summary

The Dental Laboratory Technologist is responsible for the complete restoration building process. This includes utilizing advanced techniques such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Milling (CAM), as well as traditional methods like model, dye, wax, and finish. The role encompasses work with implants, stain and glaze applications, and all forms of ceramic restoration techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all functions of a Dental Laboratory Technologist, including receiving training in additional Dental Laboratory (DL) techniques as required.
• Fabricate fixed and removable prostheses using accepted techniques and procedures, aligned with experience and capabilities.
• Assist in maintaining high standards of quality control for work produced within the assigned DL section.
• Produce and design dental implant crowns and bridges for both fixed and removable restorations, and create surgical stents.
• Utilize scanners and dental CAD/CAM systems for crown, bridge, and dental implant design.
• Set up teeth for orthodontic models using 3D data manipulation software.
• Contribute to the development of Orthodontic Laboratory Digital Services and continuous improvements to existing services.
• Support the development and maintenance of departmental policies, procedures, goals, objectives, performance improvement programs, safety and environmental policies, and infection control policies.
• Provide training to DL staff, SCDP participants, internship students, and student trainees as assigned.
• Assist in introducing and evaluating new and state-of-the-art technology within the DL field.
• Consult with staff dentists regarding the design, setup, or fittings of dental devices.
• Ensure adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all work performed.
• Assist other DL personnel as required and directed by the DL manager.
• Adhere to all Hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in personal and team education, training, and development.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in dental laboratory technology.
• Proficiency in designing and fabricating prosthodontic devices.
• Experience with CAD/CAM systems and 3D data manipulation software.
• Knowledge of various ceramic restoration techniques.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh. The role involves working within a specialized dental laboratory setting, collaborating with dentists and other laboratory personnel to deliver high-quality dental prosthetics and restorations.
