About Misk Schools and the Role

Misk Schools is seeking a dedicated Legal Officer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and involves providing comprehensive legal support to the Director of Legal across all institutional affairs.

Purpose of the Legal Officer Role

The Legal Officer plays a crucial role in managing both internal and external legal concerns for Misk Schools. This includes supporting legal issues related to the institution's functions, structures, and activities, as well as assisting management on various legal matters pertaining to the school's operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide timely and sound advice based on thorough legal research.
• Conduct detailed examinations of legal issues and present summarized reports.
• Draft and review legal letters, contracts, and agreements, monitoring legal obligations to ensure compliance.
• Maintain a detailed tracker of all agreements and contracts, including their current status.
• Conduct thorough and impartial investigations as instructed by the line manager.
• Assist in the formulation, implementation, and amendment of Misk Schools policies.
• Liaise with all departments to identify legal risks and advise management on appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Review and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure alignment with existing legislation.
• Assist in the development of guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Review school policies and legalities, highlighting potential risks.
• Adhere to departmental escalation protocols as per the organizational structure.
• Analyze and review legal agreements, legislation, and various documents.
• Provide continuous support to the Director of Legal on all departmental matters.
• Assist with administrative duties and undertake additional tasks as directed by the Director of Legal.

The Legal Officer is required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, strictly adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies and staff code of conduct. A key priority of this role is to directly support the designated safeguarding lead to ensure the safety and well-being of all students at the school.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for this position must possess 2 to 5 years of professional experience in a legal role, preferably within an educational or similar institutional environment.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
