The Role of Project Engineer, Refrigeration

Daikin Saudi is seeking a Project Engineer, Refrigeration to be based in the Al Dar Al Baida District, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is responsible for the successful execution of refrigeration projects throughout KSA. The Project Engineer supports the entire project lifecycle, from sales handover through planning, engineering coordination, procurement, site execution, testing, commissioning, and final handover. The primary objective is to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, quality, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project scope, specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements following sales handover.
• Support project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, procurement, and site execution activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, logistics, subcontractors, clients, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Review technical submittals, drawings, method statements, and material approvals.
• Coordinate and monitor the installation of refrigeration systems, specifically NH3 and glycol systems, and commercial refrigeration.
• Monitor site progress and ensure work adheres to approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and HSE standards.
• Track project progress against schedules, milestones, and planned activities.
• Monitor material deliveries, site requirements, variations, and potential delays.
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and management.
• Identify technical and execution issues and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Support cost control and ensure efficient utilization of materials and resources.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities for industrial refrigeration systems.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical and site-related issues.
• Coordinate inspections, snagging, and punch-list closure with clients and consultants.
• Ensure completion of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test reports, warranties, and other handover documents.
• Support final client handover and project close-out.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project engineering, specifically within refrigeration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects through their full lifecycle, from planning to handover.
• Experience with NH3 and glycol refrigeration systems is essential.
