About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Cytotechnologist for a full-time position. This role involves performing and evaluating various cytochemical, microscopic, and immunological procedures within the Anatomic Pathology section to generate accurate data essential for disease diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and fix microscopic slides from various specimens, including scrapings and exudates. Stain and mount slides to preserve specimens and enhance cellular visibility under the microscope.
• Examine human body cells microscopically to identify cellular abnormalities, hormonal irregularities, and other pathological conditions, adhering to established standards and practices. Report all identified abnormalities to the pathologist.
• Provide assistance during Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) procedures by assessing the cellular adequacy of specimens obtained from patients, including those collected during endoscopy or under radiological guidance (ultrasound and CT).
• Ensure compliance with College of American Pathologists (CAP) standard ****** to meet CLIA requirements regarding the total number of slides examined or reviewed across all laboratories within a twenty-four (24) hour period.
• Maintain optimal levels of supplies to ensure uninterrupted services and manage an efficient ordering and supply inventory system.
• Contribute to the development of new methodologies and the evaluation of new equipment. Update policy and procedure manuals in accordance with specified guidelines.
• Oversee quality control within the subsection and actively participate in the section's Quality Assurance programs. Investigate incident reports and implement necessary corrective actions. Contribute to quality improvement activities.
• Assist the section supervisor with ongoing employee performance appraisals. Provide counseling to subordinates to enhance performance. Orient, train, provide continuing education, and guide lower-grade personnel, other laboratory and healthcare staff, students, and residents.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in cytotechnology. The salary for this position will be disclosed during the interview process.
