About AP Race and the Sales Manager Role

AP Race, a British brand founded in 2019, operates as a leading entity in the swimming sector. In 2024, AP Race acquired the WAVE Swimming Academy, a ladies-only academy in Saudi Arabia, which currently serves over 4,000 swimmers weekly across various programmes. The organization is dedicated to developing the sport of swimming with a focus on continuous improvement. This full-time Sales Manager position, based in Riyadh, is central to leading the daily sales and admissions for the AP Race Swimming Academy. The role involves converting enquiries, trial sessions, and leads into active swimmers across all academy programmes, from parent and baby to competitive training squads.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage all daily sales enquiries across multiple channels including phone, email, website, and social media, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Operations Teams to guide prospective customers from initial enquiry through trial, assessment, and enrolment, aiming to maximize conversion rates.
  • Convert trial and assessment participants into paying customers by recommending suitable programmes, classes, or squads based on individual ability and objectives.
  • Maintain communication with prospective customers not immediately ready to join and identify opportunities to increase swimmer numbers.
  • Drive occupancy across all programmes by filling available spaces and minimizing unused class capacity.
  • Advise customers on standard session and programme pricing to support commercial growth.
  • Develop and implement seasonal and holiday sales initiatives to maximize enrolment and revenue.
  • Act as a primary contact for prospective and new customers, providing clear and accurate information on programmes, timetables, pricing, and academy policies.
  • Handle sales-related questions, objections, and concerns professionally.
  • Work with the coaching team to ensure appropriate swimmer placement.
  • Contribute to improving the academy's sales processes, systems, and customer journey.
  • Train and monitor the performance of the customer service team.

Sales Performance and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of leads, enquiries, trials, and conversions.
  • Monitor the sales pipeline and consistently follow up on outstanding leads.
  • Produce regular sales reports covering enquiries, trials, conversions, new memberships, and revenue.
  • Track conversion rates and identify areas for improvement.
  • Set and work towards monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Monitor class capacity and identify where additional sales activity is required.
  • Analyze sales performance and recommend initiatives to increase enrolment and revenue.
  • Collaborate with senior management and marketing to develop campaigns for generating new enquiries and registrations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in a sales, admissions, customer success, or business development role.
  • Confidence in communicating with parents and customers.
  • Commercially driven and motivated by achieving targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing numerous enquiries simultaneously.
  • Proactive and persistent with follow-up.
  • Comfortable handling objections and closing sales.
  • Excellent attention to detail and administration skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM, booking, and customer management systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider team.
  • A genuine interest in swimming, sport, children, and/or the development of young people.

Previous experience within sport, education, childcare, leisure, or a membership-based organization is advantageous but not essential.
