About the Role

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a Senior Director - Design (Sports Stadium) to lead the design and development of sports stadium projects within its entertainment destination in Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a senior leader to spearhead design strategy, oversee multidisciplinary teams, and ensure designs meet the standards of world-class sports venues.

Core Responsibilities

The Senior Director - Design will be responsible for:

• Establishing and guiding the design and architectural vision for sports stadium projects, ensuring alignment with Qiddiya's strategic objectives and brand identity.
• Managing and mentoring multidisciplinary design teams, including architects, engineers, and specialized sports facility consultants.
• Collaborating with project management, engineering, and operations teams to deliver integrated designs that adhere to performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Driving innovation in stadium design across areas such as fan experience, accessibility, sustainability, and technology integration.
• Overseeing coordination with external stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure design compliance and timely project delivery.
• Managing design budgets and schedules to optimize resource allocation and achieve project goals.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role must possess:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience, with a significant focus on large-scale sports stadium or venue design within commercial real estate or sports infrastructure development.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams on complex design projects.
• In-depth knowledge of stadium design principles, relevant building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability standards.
• Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and visualization tools.
• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia is considered an advantage.
