Application Engineer Technical Specialist PowerGen

About the Role

Cummins Arabia is seeking an Application Engineer Technical Specialist for its Power Generation business unit. This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on executing technical tasks at the sub-system and component levels for current and future power generation systems. The specialist will serve as a key technical liaison, coordinating activities across product line engineers, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure high-performance product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize technical expertise to select products and designs for power generation projects based on customer and project requirements.
• Estimate and provide turnkey solutions for power generation projects.
• Offer value engineering proposals at competitive prices, aiming to exceed customer expectations.
• Prepare techno-commercial offers for power generation projects.
• Respond to and clarify all customer technical inquiries.
• Perform technical calculations, create layout drawings, and select appropriate generator models using sizing software.
• Provide technical support to stakeholders, effectively communicating product features and benefits.
• Visit customers to provide Cummins product specifications for technical material submittal approval.
• Develop strong relationships with customer technical counterparts, acting as the primary liaison for product technical information.
• Ensure correct application and installation of products to meet customer system requirements.
• Assist in knowledge transfer through coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers.
• Conduct cross-functional design and costing sheets.
• Establish relationships with local suppliers, obtain competitive quotations, and meet customer and project requirements.
• Understand market-specific regulations, norms, standards, and emission regulations.
• Support marketing activities with technical input as needed.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning phase.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience within the Power Generation sector is required.
• Regional Experience: Prior work experience within Saudi Arabia (KSA) or the GCC region is preferred.
• Product Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Cummins products or generator sets is considered a strong advantage.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Power Generation business unit. The role involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, including product line engineers, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
