About the Application Specialist Role

Aljeel Medical is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Application Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on the implementation, configuration, and optimization of healthcare information systems, with a specific emphasis on Blood Bank Information Systems (BBIS), to meet operational requirements and ensure efficient system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes and stakeholder requirements to define system needs and implementation objectives.
• Install, configure, test, and deploy healthcare information systems, including Blood Bank Information Systems (BBIS).
• Ensure system compatibility, performance, security, and data integrity throughout implementation projects.
• Customize and adapt software solutions to align with clinical, operational, and business requirements.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and conduct end-user training to facilitate successful system adoption.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with IT teams, healthcare professionals, and business stakeholders to enhance workflows and optimize system efficiency.
• Participate in data migration, system validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
• Support project planning, implementation, and post-go-live activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience implementing healthcare information systems such as HIS, LIS, BBIS, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025).
• Solid understanding of database management systems, including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database.
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards and data exchange protocols, including HL7 and ASTM.
• Experience integrating healthcare systems with laboratory analyzers, blood bank equipment, and HIS/LIS systems.
• Understanding of system architecture concepts, networking, and infrastructure components.
• Experience with project management tools and implementation methodologies.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel as required for project implementations and customer support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional proficiency in French; Arabic is an advantage.
• Previous experience with Blood Bank Information Systems, specifically the Hematos system.
• Experience working within healthcare environments, such as hospitals, blood banks, or laboratories.
