About Aajil and the Role

Aajil is a Saudi, Sharia-compliant B2B working-capital fintech company that serves the industrial supply chain, including contractors, traders, and manufacturers. The company's mission is to make structured, Sharia-compliant purchasing on credit feel intuitive and relevant by utilizing language that genuinely resonates with its customers, rather than relying on specialized fintech terminology. Aajil is seeking a Full-time Arabic Copywriter to join its team in Riyadh, requiring 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop copy from initial brand or campaign needs through to live, published content.
• Understand the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) to grasp their actual language before drafting content.
• Translate business goals into clear internal briefs, defining the content, target audience, and specific Aajil brand voice for each piece.
• Write original copy in native Saudi Arabic across various platforms, including blogs, social media captions, post-copy, paid social, outdoor advertising, video and audio scripts, landing pages, and sales enablement materials.
• Manage the entire content creation process from brief to publication, ensuring the authentic Saudi voice is maintained without external intervention.
• Ensure all copy adheres to Sharia compliance, avoiding interest-like language or unverified promises.
• Proactively identify and address any drift in the brand voice to maintain consistency across all formats and content volume.

Candidate Profile

• Ability to write in a style that reflects how a Saudi business owner speaks, distinct from Modern Standard Arabic translated from English.
• Capacity to maintain a consistent brand voice across diverse content lengths, from short captions to longer scripts.
• Prioritization of customer reality and perspective before developing headlines or content.
• Skill in identifying believable moments from an ICP and crafting content from that viewpoint.
• Proactive identification of compliance risks, understanding Sharia-compliant language requirements.
• A focus on high-volume production, capable of managing weekly content output rather than occasional projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written Saudi Arabic.
• 3+ years of copywriting experience with a portfolio of published Arabic work (social, campaign, or ad copy, not translation).
• Demonstrated B2B or business-audience writing experience, distinct from purely consumer or lifestyle content.
• Working proficiency in English for internal collaboration (briefs, feedback, Slack), with Arabic as the primary deliverable language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within Fintech, financial services, B2B trade, or the contracting/industrial sector.
• Experience in video or audio scriptwriting, including hook structure and voiceover pacing.
• Specific experience writing for Saudi audiences, rather than broader MENA/Gulf generalist work.

Working Approach

This role emphasizes high ownership and minimal direct supervision. The Copywriter will work directly from Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) and product facts, rather than relying on fully detailed creative briefs. The expected weekly output includes 3+ blogs, 14-20 social/caption pieces, and additional campaign work as it arises (paid social, outdoor, video/audio, launches). Initial collaboration with the team will focus on brand tone calibration, with increasing independence as the brand voice becomes established. Candidates who are comfortable navigating situations with evolving certainty, prefer direct peer communication, and desire early ownership tend to thrive in this environment.
