About Havelock One Interiors and the Role

Established in 1998, Havelock One Interiors is a leading turnkey fit-out service provider in the Middle East. The company specializes in interior contracting and the manufacturing of bespoke joinery, metalworks, and sophisticated shop fittings. As a result of expansion in the key growth market of Saudi Arabia, Havelock One Interiors is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose and Strategic Focus

The Business Development Manager is responsible for cultivating relationships with new clients and enhancing engagement with existing ones. This involves understanding client development strategies and aspirations to strategically position Havelock One's capabilities for future projects. The role requires establishing a robust network with work providers, including designers and consultants, to build a pipeline of new business, with a particular focus on enhancing commercial office fit-out opportunities. A thorough knowledge of the market, company solutions, and competitive advantages is essential for strategic planning and relationship development.

Core Business Development Activities

• Prospect for potential new clients and convert opportunities into increased business.
• Oversee marketing and account strategy, including marketing communications and new market investigation.
• Research and establish relationships with new clients and identify new projects within targeted sectors.
• Utilize internal and external tools to compile a project opportunity pipeline and formulate action plans aligned with management targets.
• Collaborate with the projects team to develop compelling proposals that address client needs, concerns, and objectives.
• Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs to foster relationship enhancement.

Client Engagement and Market Intelligence

• Set up meetings between client decision-makers and the company’s Directors/Principals.
• Address client objections by clarifying points, emphasizing agreements, and resolving differences to achieve positive outcomes.
• Employ diverse communication styles for effective persuasion and negotiation.
• Present a professional image consistent with that of the client.
• Attend industry functions, association events, and conferences, providing feedback on market and creative trends.
• Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s capabilities and personnel.
• Maintain a clear understanding of the company’s goals and purpose to contribute to performance enhancement.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated effective communication and influencing skills, particularly with senior-level client decision-makers.
• Proven experience in creating and delivering business development strategies.
• Track record of delivering growth targets.
• Knowledge of estimating services, including value engineering.
• Possession of gravitas and a charismatic personality to establish rapport with key influencers and diverse professional groups.
• A proven track-record of influential networking within the market with relevant clients.
• Expertise in developing business sectors within the challenging and competitive fit-out market in KSA.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across the organization and lead initiatives to successful completion.
