The Role of Civil Inspector

SYSTRA is seeking a Civil Inspector to join the Project Management Consultant (PMC) team for a metro project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position. The Civil Inspector will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting civil works on site to ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine and detailed inspections of civil works at the site.
Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and relevant codes and standards.
Inspect materials delivered to site and verify compliance with approved submittals.
Witness site tests and inspections in accordance with the inspection and test plan.
Monitor contractor workmanship and construction practices to achieve quality requirements.
Identify non-conforming work and report deficiencies to the Resident Engineer or relevant supervision personnel.
Maintain inspection requests, site records, checklists, photographs, and daily reports.
Verify that corrective actions are implemented and closed out in a timely manner.
Coordinate with QA/QC personnel and other engineering disciplines on interface and compliance matters.
Support progress monitoring by reporting actual site status and construction issues.
Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are observed during execution of works.
Assist with snagging, de-snagging, substantial completion inspections, and handover processes.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field. Specific qualifications were not provided, but experience in civil inspection for rail or metro projects is essential for this role.
