Hala is seeking a highly experienced Director of Data to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to developing and executing the enterprise data strategy, aligning with Hala's business objectives and digital transformation roadmap within the dynamic fintech sector.

Founded in 2017, Hala holds multiple entities across UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, including Hala Payments and Hala Logistics, offering solutions for digitizing payments and managing sales and operations. Hala is currently licensed by the Saudi Arabian Central Bank (SAMA).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise data strategy in alignment with business objectives and the digital transformation roadmap.
• Establish a modern, scalable, and secure data ecosystem to support analytics, AI, reporting, and operational decision-making.
• Lead and develop the Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Governance teams.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Ensure reliable data pipelines that integrate payment systems, merchant platforms, financial systems, CRM, and operational applications.
• Drive automation, scalability, availability, and performance of data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the Engineering department to establish enterprise data architecture standards.
• Deliver executive dashboards and KPI reporting for senior management and Board Committees.
• Establish enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and ownership models.
• Define data quality controls, metadata management, master data management, and data lifecycle processes.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity across all systems.
• Ensure data management practices comply with SAMA regulatory requirements, NCA Cybersecurity Controls, Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), and internal security and governance standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Equivalent years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Data Engineering, Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Data Management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing enterprise data teams. Experience within fintech, banking, or financial services is preferred.
• Skills: Fluent in English and Arabic, with strong analytical and reconciliation capabilities.
