Our client, a rapidly expanding international engineering consultancy, is seeking a Director of Operations. This firm specializes in delivering major infrastructure, transportation, and multidisciplinary engineering projects across Saudi Arabia. Based in Riyadh, this full-time role offers an opportunity to provide strategic leadership within an entrepreneurial environment that values agility, innovation, and ownership.

Role Overview

The Director of Operations will be responsible for providing strategic leadership across project delivery, commercial performance, business development, and operational excellence. This position requires a hands-on, commercially minded individual who is comfortable establishing structure and refining processes within a dynamic setting. Reporting to senior leadership, the successful candidate will oversee the operational performance of a regional portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with Project Directors and leadership teams to enhance delivery, strengthen governance, drive commercial success, and support continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead operational performance across a portfolio of major engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Improve project governance, delivery standards, and operational efficiency.
• Support Project Directors throughout project mobilisation, execution, and close-out phases.
• Drive commercial performance, profitability, and forecasting across the portfolio.
• Optimise resource planning and utilisation across multiple projects.
• Build strong relationships with key clients and senior stakeholders.
• Lead the resolution of commercial and project delivery challenges.
• Support strategic business planning and operational improvement initiatives.
• Lead major bids and proposals from qualification through to submission and client presentations.
• Work alongside technical and commercial teams to develop strategies for new opportunities.
• Mentor, develop, and lead multidisciplinary teams across the region.
• Contribute to the continued growth of the business across Saudi Arabia.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of experience in operations leadership within the engineering consultancy sector. You will be a hands-on and commercially astute professional, comfortable in an environment where processes are still evolving and structure needs to be built. This role is central to shaping the company's next phase of growth, requiring a proactive approach to operational excellence and business development.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role operates within an entrepreneurial and agile environment, distinct from larger multinational consultancies, emphasizing innovation and individual ownership.
