About the Role

Tuwaiq Academy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to join their team. This full-time role involves designing and developing embedded systems and electronic circuit solutions for departmental projects and laboratories. The position also contributes to the practical training and development of trainees and graduates in embedded systems technologies and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure business continuity and high-quality training outcomes by providing expertise in embedded systems. This includes developing firmware for microcontrollers, designing PCBs, and offering technical supervision and guidance to trainees, thereby enhancing their practical skills and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded systems, including firmware development for microcontrollers.
• Train trainees and enhance their practical skills using platforms such as ESP32 and Raspberry Pi, along with related development tools and technologies.
• Design Printed Circuit Boards, encompassing schematics and PCB layouts, utilizing tools like KiCad, Altium, or Eagle, and review designs according to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) standards.
• Assemble and solder electronic boards and components using SMD and THT techniques, conduct necessary testing, and diagnose and troubleshoot faults.
• Prepare and develop training materials, curricula, practical projects, and laboratory exercises in both Arabic and English.
• Provide technical supervision for trainee projects and graduation projects, offering appropriate engineering guidance and feedback.
• Prepare and maintain the department’s laboratories, oversee equipment and devices, and ensure compliance with safety requirements and standards.
• Provide technical support for departmental events and technical competitions, and participate in project evaluation and judging when required.
• Document designs, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOM) in accordance with engineering best practices and standards.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in embedded systems engineering. The role requires a strong understanding of electronic circuit design, firmware development, and PCB design principles. Proficiency with relevant software tools and hardware platforms is essential.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in embedded systems design and development.
• Experience with microcontroller firmware development.
• Familiarity with platforms such as ESP32 and Raspberry Pi.
• Expertise in PCB design using tools like KiCad, Altium, or Eagle.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) standards.
• Skills in assembling, soldering (SMD and THT), testing, and troubleshooting electronic components.
• Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and training materials.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills for trainee development.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the laboratories and project environments of Tuwaiq Academy. The role involves both technical development and active participation in educational and training initiatives.
