About the Role

alfanar, a company with operations in construction, manufacturing, and design centers across the Middle East and beyond, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves creating detailed mechanical system designs and schematics for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to the delivery of efficient and reliable designs.

Job Purpose and Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this role is to develop and test mechanical systems, providing innovative solutions that meet technical specifications and project objectives while optimizing performance and cost. Key responsibilities include:

• Creating detailed mechanical system designs, schematics, and layouts that adhere to project specifications and industry standards.
• Conducting load calculations, system simulations, and performance analyses to ensure design efficiency, reliability, and compliance with codes and regulations.
• Preparing and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and currency.
• Collaborating with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems with other building systems and project requirements.
• Communicating with clients to understand needs, provide technical advice, and present design concepts.
• Reviewing and approving design modifications to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Identifying and resolving design issues, performing system testing, and providing solutions to technical problems during implementation.
• Staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance design processes.

Role Accountabilities

This role requires the engineer to continuously obtain updated soft and technical skills relevant to the job and to have a clear vision for career path development. Accountabilities include:

• Performing planned activities to meet operational and development targets within delivery schedules, utilizing resources effectively for efficient cost and time achievement.
• Providing periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.

• Coordinating well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, and seeking automation opportunities.
• Complying with related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls.
