About the Evasion Lead Investigator Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is seeking an experienced Evasion Lead Investigator to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional capable of independently managing complex investigations and guiding junior staff. The role involves developing and executing strategies to combat customs evasion and fraud, ensuring compliance with ZATCA's objectives.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Jobholders at this level are experienced professionals who conduct work with general direction. They are responsible for developing solutions to challenges requiring analysis and addressing issues escalated from junior levels. This includes planning and overseeing customs evasion investigations, assessing risks, and ensuring adherence to investigation guidelines.

Customs Evasion Investigation Planning and Execution

Key duties involve reviewing and understanding developed customs investigation plans to create operational plans aligned with ZATCA's strategy. This includes leading day-to-day investigation activities, identifying specific focus areas, and setting investigator rotation schedules to ensure effective coverage. The role requires assessing and prioritizing investigation cases, conducting in-depth investigations into customs evasions, fraud, and breaches using various techniques, and evaluating investigation activities for uniformity and standardization.

  • Reviewing and assessing investigation cases to classify and prioritize risks.

This also involves consolidating potential trends and repetitive actions into reports for stakeholders and developing investigator performance reports that highlight operational gaps and training needs.

Organizational and People Management

People management responsibilities include training junior staff, providing clear direction, prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and monitoring workflow to ensure efficient and compliant execution of duties.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
