The Role of Fiber Optic Technician

2P Perfect Presentation is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Technician to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves the installation, splicing, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber-optic networks. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of practical experience using fiber-splicing equipment and optical testing tools, including Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs).

Key Responsibilities

Install, route, terminate, and maintain fiber-optic cables.
Perform fiber fusion splicing according to approved technical standards.
Conduct OTDR, power-meter, continuity, and performance testing.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve fiber-optic faults.
Read and follow network diagrams and technical specifications.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fiber infrastructure.
Accurately label cables, connections, and distribution points.
Maintain testing records, service reports, and technical documentation.
Adhere to workplace health, safety, and quality procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

Technical diploma or vocational qualification in telecommunications, networking, electronics, or a related field.
Practical experience (2-5 years) in fiber installation, fusion splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience using fusion splicers, OTDRs, and optical power meters.
Ability to interpret fiber layouts and technical diagrams.
Structured-cabling experience is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills.
