About the Income Auditor Role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Income Auditor to join its team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This is a full-time position suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience. The Income Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of daily revenue reporting and financial controls across various hotel operations.

Daily Revenue Reconciliation and Reporting

The primary responsibility involves the daily reconciliation of revenue between the Property Management System (PMS) and other integrated systems. This includes verifying sales from rooms, food & beverage, telephone services, laundry, and other departments. The role also requires the preparation and timely distribution of accurate daily revenue reports.

• Reconcile daily revenues across PMS and integrated systems for all sales categories.
• Prepare the daily revenue report, ensuring accuracy and timely dissemination.

Operational Financial Controls

This role involves meticulous verification of various operational transactions to maintain financial control and prevent discrepancies. Specific duties include reviewing room allocations, managing food and beverage sales controls, and ensuring proper documentation for special room rates.

• Ensure adequate explanation and justification for complimentary or house use rooms.
• Verify full reasoning for zero-rate rooms to confirm they are contracted rates.
• Review no-show reports and confirm correct revenue posting.
• Check room rate variance reports with explanations from the Night Manager.
• Verify completion and signatures on room status discrepancy reports by Housekeeping and Front Office.
• Ensure daily review of "Out-of-Service/Out-of-Order" rooms report by the Night Manager.
• Finalize food cover reports for food and beverage control and the Finance Department.
• Ensure correct allocation of breakfast packages.
• Control food and beverage sales through correct guest check recording, spot checks, approval of voided/corrected/unsettled checks, monitoring buffet controls, ensuring banquet controls, and reconciling total outlet sales to charges.
• Prepare reports on employee meals charged for personal consumption, customer entertainment, or employee relations.

Financial Documentation and Compliance

The Income Auditor is responsible for ensuring all financial adjustments and revenue streams are properly documented, compliant with hotel policies, and accurately recorded in the accounting systems.

• Ensure all rebates and negative postings are supported by detailed documentation and comply with the Hotel Accounting Manual.
• Summarize and submit daily rebates, negative postings, and paid outs to the Director of Finance & Business Support and General Manager for review.
• Ensure adequate control and safeguards for programs involving coupons, certificates, and vouchers.
• Verify that all invoiced and earned revenue is captured and recorded accurately in the PMS or accounting system daily or by cycle, ensuring all revenue postings tie to their source.

Internal Controls and Accountability

This role contributes to maintaining robust accounting controls and ensuring adherence to company policies and statutory requirements. The Income Auditor reports directly to the Accountant and supports internal audit processes.

• Ensure compliance with IHG policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures to enhance departmental workflows.
• Coordinate and administer Control Self-Assessment audits.
• Report directly to and communicate with the Accountant on all matters related to accounting and financial controls.
• Perform other duties as required to support financial operations.

Required Experience
