Velora Group is seeking an Interior Design Department Manager to lead our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a professional who will manage interior design projects comprehensively, from initial concept planning to final execution. The role involves leading an empowered team, presenting design concepts directly to clients, and conducting site visits to ensure built structures conform to design specifications. This position is suited for an individual who prioritizes meticulous attention to detail in all project phases.

Interior Design Leadership

The Interior Design Department Manager will establish and maintain the design vision for all projects. Key responsibilities in this area include:

• Setting the design direction and approving concept, design-development, and IFC packages.
• Producing and approving space plans, ceiling layouts, flooring, internal elevations, and construction details.
• Signing off on material boards, finish schedules, lighting layouts, and FF&E selections.
• Establishing department-wide design standards to ensure consistent output quality across all projects.

Team Management and Development

This role involves direct leadership and development of the interior design team. Responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a team of interior designers, visualizers, and CAD technicians.
• Balancing workload across concurrent projects and ensuring output quality before it leaves the department.
• Building the department's material library, supplier network, and standard detail references.

Project Delivery and Quality Assurance

The Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality and technical integrity of project deliverables. This includes:

• Reviewing shop drawings for joinery, metalwork, ceilings, and stonework.
• Coordinating technically with architectural, electrical, and mechanical scopes without compromising design intent.
• Conducting site supervision, verifying built-vs-drawn conformity, and issuing and closing site observations.
• Approving samples and mock-ups prior to bulk procurement.

Client Engagement and Commercial Oversight

The role requires active engagement with clients and management of commercial aspects related to design projects. Responsibilities include:

• Presenting design proposals to clients and driving review cycles through to sign-off.
• Contributing to design scope pricing and reviewing bills of quantities (BOQ).
• Coordinating with contractors and suppliers; managing design variations and their cost and schedule impact.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in interior design, with a demonstrated background in leadership and project management within the field.
