About the Role

American Express Saudi Arabia is seeking an IT Transformation Consultant to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves establishing and leading the enterprise IT Quality Assurance and Technology Delivery function. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring the secure, reliable, and timely delivery of technology solutions through effective quality engineering, governance, and DevOps practices, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the technology landscape. Candidates should possess a minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement enterprise-wide QA and testing strategies aligned with IT and business goals.
  • Establish quality governance frameworks, standards, and testing methodologies.
  • Lead functional, integration, system, regression, performance, security, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Drive quality engineering practices and shift-left testing approaches.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of IT projects, software products, system implementations, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Oversee IT project execution from requirements gathering through deployment and post-production support.
  • Manage release planning, deployment schedules, and production readiness reviews.
  • Log and analyze front-end customer experience impacting issues.

Agile and DevOps Leadership

  • Drive automation across development and testing processes.
  • Improve release frequency while maintaining system stability and quality.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to streamline deployment pipelines.
  • Establish DevOps metrics and performance monitoring frameworks.
  • Develop and execute enterprise test automation strategies.
  • Increase automated test coverage across web, mobile, APIs, and enterprise applications.
  • Implement modern testing tools and frameworks, and drive performance and security testing initiatives.

Governance, Risk, and Compliance

  • Establish IT delivery governance and quality assurance controls.
  • Manage delivery risks, technical debt, and quality-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory requirements, including SAMA regulations.
  • Conduct quality audits and delivery reviews, leading root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Introduce incident notification requirements.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery and quality-related concerns.
  • Communicate delivery status, quality metrics, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with business units to align technology delivery with strategic priorities.
  • Ensure third-party solutions meet organizational quality standards and lead a technology vendor risk management framework.
  • Set a traceable sign-off framework before production to monitor effective service rollout and communication of SAMA requirements.
  • Oversee readiness for regulatory inspections, reviews, and reporting related to IT, and assess IT governance readiness to create a robust framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications: Enterprise Architecture certification, preferably in TOGAF and/or COBIT, is highly required. Project Management certification is preferred but not a necessity.
  • Nationality: Saudi National is not a requirement for this position.
