About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Joint Staff Geospatial Support Expert to provide technical expertise and guidance on geospatial tools and systems. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and offers a competitive salary. The role is crucial for ensuring the accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of geospatial products and services to support military operations and decision-making within the joint staff and other partner organizations.

Role Purpose and Context

The Joint Staff Geospatial Support Expert will serve as a key technical advisor, focusing on the application of geospatial technologies. The primary objective is to support military operations and strategic decision-making by ensuring that all geospatial products and services meet high standards of customization, accuracy, and efficiency. This role contributes to BAE Systems' commitment to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of national capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and expert advice on the utilization of geospatial tools and systems to the joint staff and other relevant partners.
• Analyze geospatial data and products to effectively support military operations and inform decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with fellow geospatial experts to develop, maintain, and enhance geospatial products and services.
• Implement and enforce geospatial policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent and accurate delivery of all geospatial outputs.
• Deliver training and guidance to geospatial users and teams, fostering their understanding and proficiency.
• Participate in the design and development phases of new geospatial tools, applications, and systems.
• Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of geospatial principles, tools, and emerging technologies.
• Offer technical support for existing geospatial systems and tools.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree in Geospatial Information or a closely related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Certification in ISO geospatial data standards, including ISO 19100 and ISO 9001.
• Extensive and proven experience in geospatial management, particularly within joint staff environments.
• Demonstrated experience as a technical support leader within a defense organization.
• Strong technical proficiency in geospatial analysis and modeling techniques.
• Hands-on experience with various GIS software and tools.
• Excellent knowledge of geospatial data standards and policies, including NSG, ISO, IHO, DGWIG, NATO (STANAG), OGC, W3C, and SDO.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex geospatial data.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for clear information exchange.
• Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders and customers.

Work Environment and Context

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia operates under Government-to-Government arrangements, providing equipment, support, and training to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and Royal Saudi Naval Force (RSNF). The company is dedicated to supporting national agendas through Saudisation and developing Saudi national capability.
