Kiosk Testing & Deployment Engineer

About the Role

Cipher7 Business Consulting & Digital Solutions is seeking a Kiosk Testing & Deployment Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This contract role involves supporting the testing, configuration, integration, and deployment of Automated Border Control (ABC) self-service kiosk systems at a major international airport. The successful candidate will work with kiosk hardware, Windows Operating Systems, client-server applications, and backend infrastructure to ensure system functionality, reliability, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate end-to-end data flows between kiosk client applications and backend server APIs and databases.
• Perform API and protocol-level testing using RESTful APIs, SOAP, and TCP/IP.
• Execute functional, regression, and integration testing across hardware, software, middleware, and backend systems.
• Test application behavior under network latency, connectivity interruptions, and varying server loads.
• Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10/11 and Windows IoT) on kiosk devices.
• Manage device drivers, Windows registry settings, security policies, and system configurations.
• Test and validate kiosk hardware and peripherals, including passport/document readers, biometric devices, and cameras.
• Install, configure, image, and deploy kiosk client applications, ensuring connectivity to Development, QA, and Production servers.
• Diagnose technical issues across client devices, hardware peripherals, operating systems, network connectivity, and backend servers.
• Analyze application logs, Windows Event Viewer, server logs, and database transaction records to identify root causes.
• Document and track defects using tools such as Jira and capture technical evidence using Wireshark.
• Support application installation, configuration, deployment, upgrades, patches, and hotfixes.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, network, and development teams for firewall, DNS, SSL/TLS, and database connectivity.
• Perform Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and validate system readiness before production rollout.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant technical role.
• Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems, including Windows 10/11 and Windows IoT.
• Experience with client-server application integration and testing.
• Familiarity with API and protocol-level testing (RESTful APIs, SOAP, TCP/IP).
• Knowledge of hardware and peripheral testing, particularly for kiosk systems.
• Experience with defect management tools like Jira and network analysis tools like Wireshark.
