About the Last Mile Logistics Sr. Account Manager Role

Amazon is seeking a Last Mile Logistics Sr. Account Manager to join its Delivery Service Partners (DSP) team in Riyadh. This role focuses on empowering entrepreneurs and contributing to Amazon's sustainability goals within the quick commerce sector. You will act as a trusted advisor and operating partner to DSP business owners, guiding them through the entire lifecycle of their business to ensure success during a transformative period in the transportation industry.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Sr. Account Manager, you will manage a team of 6+ Managers responsible for overseeing 80+ DSP accounts within Amazon's quick commerce business, which includes 15-minute and 2-hour delivery services across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You will support entrepreneurs, some of whom may have no prior logistics background, as well as seasoned logistics carriers, depending on the specific business program. Your responsibilities will include working closely with a portfolio of owners to set strategy, drive accountability, and monitor key performance metrics. You will collaborate with internal teams, including Program Managers, Compliance, and Finance, to ensure DSPs launch and scale their businesses in compliance with program requirements. A key aspect of this role involves analyzing problems, identifying insights, delivering recommendations, and driving programmatic and operational changes both internally and externally. You will also facilitate the execution of Monitoring and Enforcement Policies (MEP) and build feedback channels with various internal teams and product strategists.

Key Account Management Activities

  • Support business owners by removing obstacles and improving financial, operational, and safety practices at the network level.
  • Collaborate with integrated internal stakeholders such as Partner Relations (PAR), Value Added Service (VAS), Legal, and fleet and network health teams.
  • Facilitate and execute Monitoring and Enforcement Policies (MEP) and build two-way feedback channels with OTR teams, DSPs, and WW/EU Product and strategy teams.
  • Work with DSPs to deliver effective ramp plans and pipeline goals, ensuring sufficient driver supply to meet peak volume demands.
  • Improve driver standards to protect brand image.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and formulate and implement operational improvements at the network level to enhance the individual DSP owner experience.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships between Amazon and its DSP partners.
  • Act as the voice of the DSP within the AMZL business.

Daily Operational Focus

  • Safety: Partner with OTR Safety and OTR Regional Managers to ensure business safety compliance.
  • Performance: Guide owners in scaling their businesses, managing operational issues, and ensuring they have resources for effective ramp-up and peak period preparation.
  • Performance: Support owners during onboarding and launch preparation for net new launches.
  • Performance: Coach and ensure effective upskilling and utilization of AMZL tools.
  • Performance: Conduct deep dives to identify opportunities for customer metric improvement.
  • Performance: Champion the consistent application of Last Mile processes within Delivery Stations and challenge UTR processes that impact OTR.
  • Performance: Coach business owners to run compliant, safe, and high-performing companies, including SLS metric deep dives.
  • Experience: Align communication with DSP business owners following close collaboration with OTR partners.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, or marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing internal and external stakeholders.
  • A minimum of 5 years of team management experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of management or people management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in account or relationship management, small business logistics, or retail/vendor/supplier management.

Work Environment and Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role requires flexibility and travel between multiple sites to engage with business owners weekly to effectively carry out responsibilities. Amazon fosters an inclusive culture that empowers employees to deliver the best results for customers.
