About Emdad By Elm and the Role

Emdad By Elm is seeking a Lead AI Products Architect to join its AI Products Management Department in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is for a senior, hands-on AI technical leader with 5-10 years of experience, responsible for shaping the technical direction of AI products.

Role Purpose and Context

The Lead AI Products Architect partners closely with Product Managers to translate product intent into scalable, secure, and production-ready AI system designs. This role involves collaboration with the AI Research Team and the Delivery Team, with ownership over the technical quality bar across the entire AI product lifecycle, including architecture, model performance, data readiness, and operational excellence. The position acts as the technical backbone of AI Products, ensuring solutions are measurable, reliable, and commercially viable in production, complementing rather than replacing Engineering or Research functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture for AI products, including Generative AI (GenAI), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agents, and Machine Learning (ML) systems, covering inference services, orchestration, data pipelines, APIs, and integrations.
• Define reference architectures and reusable components such as RAG modules, evaluation frameworks, prompt/versioning strategies, feature stores, vector database patterns, and guardrails.
• Lead design reviews with Engineering, Platform, and Security teams to ensure solutions meet standards for scalability, resilience, cost efficiency, and maintainability.
• Define product-specific success metrics and acceptance criteria, including accuracy, groundedness, latency, cost, safety, robustness, and drift.
• Design offline and online evaluation strategies, such as A/B testing.
• Develop and own the AI evaluation playbook, covering hallucination detection, retrieval quality, safety, jailbreak resistance, and ML metrics like precision/recall and calibration.
• Manage the AI product data strategy, including sources, contracts, quality checks, lineage, governance, and privacy-by-design principles.
• Define data readiness gates across Proof of Concept (PoC), Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and Scale phases.
• Partner with Data Engineering on data pipelines and continuous data quality monitoring.
• Specify MLOps/LLMOps requirements, including model registry, CI/CD, prompt/config versioning, observability, monitoring, and rollback strategies.
• Define runtime controls such as guardrails, policy enforcement, red-teaming, rate limiting, and audit logging.
• Act as a technical co-pilot to Product Managers, translating product requirements into system constraints and non-functional requirements.
• Identify technical risks early and propose pragmatic trade-offs.
• Mentor Product Managers on AI technical fundamentals.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant technical leadership position. Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with agentic workflows and safety frameworks.
• A track record of building reusable AI platforms or components.
• Experience operating in heavily regulated environments.
