About the Role

Swatch Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Advisor to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role serves as the primary legal point of contact for the Company in Saudi Arabia, providing professional legal advice, managing contracts, litigation, and disputes, and protecting the Company’s legal interests. The Legal Advisor is responsible for identifying and managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with applicable Saudi laws and Company standards, and coordinating significant legal matters with the Global Legal Function in Switzerland. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant legal experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to Management and business functions on operational matters in Saudi Arabia, interpreting local laws and assessing their impact.
• Draft, review, revise, and negotiate commercial agreements and legal documents, ensuring compliance with Saudi laws and Company standards.
• Manage litigation cases, legal claims, disputes, and settlement matters, representing the Company before Saudi courts when authorized.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, assess changes in Saudi legislation, and advise Management on potential impacts and compliance risks.
• Offer legal support on corporate governance matters, drafting and reviewing corporate resolutions and other legal instruments.
• Identify, assess, and monitor material legal risks, recommending mitigation measures and maintaining confidentiality over sensitive information.
• Act as the local legal liaison with the Global Legal Function in Switzerland, coordinating matters requiring Group review or approval and preparing periodic legal updates.

Authority and Accountability

The Legal Advisor provides legal opinions, advice, and recommendations within the scope of the role, and drafts, reviews, and negotiates legal agreements within delegated authority. The role includes representing the Company before courts and judicial committees where legally authorized, and coordinating with external legal counsel subject to Company approvals. Accountability extends to maintaining strict confidentiality over legal matters and escalating material legal risks to Management and the Global Legal Function.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid Saudi Ministry of Justice license to practice law.
• Saudi National.
• 5-10 years of experience in a legal role.
• Experience within a multinational or corporate environment is preferred.

Working Relationships

This role involves extensive internal and external collaboration to ensure effective legal support and compliance.

• Internal: Country Manager, Global Legal Function – Switzerland, Business and Support Functions.
• External: Saudi Courts and Judicial Committees, External Legal Counsel, Contractual Counterparties, Regulatory or Government Authorities (in relation to assigned legal matters), and other relevant external parties.

Key Challenges

• Acting as the primary local legal point of contact while coordinating effectively with the Global Legal Function.
• Managing litigation, contracts, disputes, and legal risks concurrently.
• Providing commercially practical legal advice while safeguarding the Company’s interests.
• Responding to evolving Saudi legal and regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining independence, confidentiality, and sound legal judgment across sensitive matters.
