About Alfanar Projects and the Role

Alfanar Projects is seeking a Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights Section Manager to lead and develop its market intelligence and strategic insights capabilities. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on providing forward-looking insights across markets, industries, competitors, technologies, and emerging opportunities.

The role is central to establishing the frameworks, methodologies, and intelligence processes necessary to understand market dynamics, identify opportunities and risks, assess external factors, and translate market intelligence into actionable strategic insights. These insights will directly support executive decision-making and long-term growth initiatives within the company. This position acts as the functional lead for Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights within Corporate Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish methodologies, analytical frameworks, and the research agenda for market intelligence.
• Provide market and external intelligence to enable strategic decision-making.
• Lead critical analyses and continuously advance the market intelligence capability.
• Convert market, competitor, and external intelligence into actionable strategic insights.
• Identify key opportunities, threats, and implications to support executive decision-making with concise, evidence-based recommendations.

Strategic Intelligence Focus Areas

• Market & Industry Intelligence: Develop and maintain frameworks, classifications, and knowledge repositories. Assess market size, growth, customer segments, attractiveness, and emerging opportunities, validating data using reliable sources.
• Competitive & Benchmarking Intelligence: Develop competitor and benchmarking frameworks, analyze competitor positioning, value chains, and ecosystem dynamics. Identify competitive advantages, risks, opportunities, and industry shifts.
• Strategic Foresight & External Trends: Monitor economic, regulatory, technological, geopolitical, and industry developments, with a particular focus on energy, electricity, infrastructure, and related sectors. Evaluate emerging technologies, trends, disruption risks, and future scenarios.
• Strategic Studies & Opportunity Assessment: Lead assessments of market entry, growth, diversification, partnerships, and investment opportunities. Evaluate opportunities based on strategic fit, market attractiveness, commercial potential, and risk, connecting market insights with business and financial implications.

Capability Development and Governance

• Define and drive the Market Intelligence roadmap, methodologies, priorities, and research agenda.
• Enhance frameworks, tools, data sources, monitoring processes, and knowledge management.
• Build and mature the Market Intelligence capability using research platforms, analytics, digital tools, and AI.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Economics.
• 10-15 years of strong experience in market analysis, competitive intelligence, benchmarking, and strategic studies.
• Experience in the energy, electricity, or a related industry is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior management.

This is a full-time position within Alfanar Projects, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
