About the OPINT Role

BAE Systems is seeking an OPINT professional for a full-time role in Riyadh. This position, focused on Capability Engineering, involves serving as the primary interface with RSAF Command and front-line operations to address Mission Data (MD) needs. The role requires 2-5 years of experience and is central to the end-to-end MD production activity, including generation and briefing of MD material to front-line personnel.

Key Responsibilities

The OPINT will manage various aspects of Electronic Warfare (EW) operations and Mission Data. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Developing and maintaining the EWC Typhoon Concept of Operations (CONOPs) and Concept of Use (CONUSE).
• Interfacing with the Intelligence Directorate for new ELINT Collection tasking to support MD Operational Requirements.
• Specifying and prioritizing operationally relevant threat engagement scenarios.
• Liaising with the RSAF MD tasking agency and front-line users to understand and agree on Training, Exercise, and Operational MD requirements, including content, priority, rules of engagement, tactics, and schedule. This involves identifying intended MD use, generating EOB and Theatre Environment Requirements, providing MDS scenario requirements for T&V, allocating tactics and CMs to identified threats, and specifying Multifunctional Information Distribution System coverage, platforms, message contents, and Identification Friend or Foe modes.
• Advising the TVACD Section on Typhoon aircraft performance characteristics and tactics.
• Issuing Mission Data Sets (MDS), including MD configuration control, producing RSAF Typhoon front-line user MDS briefing material and supporting documentation (such as the Aircrew Briefing Guide), briefing MDS content and anticipated performance to front-line users, debriefing MD performance problems, coordinating MDS feedback, and managing Post-Flight Analysis (PFA) activities.
• Supporting the Test and Evaluation cell at Taif.
• Planning and managing EWC support to trials, and processing and managing the analysis of trial and exercise data.
• Developing and maintaining Ops section processes and procedures.
• Carrying out any further functions requested by the RSAF.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the OPINT – Capability Engineering role must meet the following criteria:

• High level of interpersonal skills to coordinate diverse activities and the ability to communicate, influence, and direct decision-making at all levels.
• Demonstrated experience in gaining the confidence of a wide spectrum of stakeholders.
• Experience in the development and application of engineering processes.
• Experience with Aerospace Systems and Support activities.
• Aeronautical and Defence Company/Industry knowledge, ideally with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience involved in diverse engineering projects.
• Practical experience in the development and delivery of an engineering solution.

Essential Skills and Background

The following are essential for this position:

• Recent experience in Air Operations, either as aircrew or recent experience leading and managing the tasking, creation, and verification of Mission Data, particularly for Typhoon aircraft.
• Experience in Air Operations within an EW environment, preferably within the UK Air Warfare Centre Headquarters (Air & Space Warfare Centre).
• Developed technical awareness of EME/EW developments and the operational application of EWOS and Platform EW capabilities (current/emerging).
• Must have held a Command appointment equivalent to Squadron Leader or Wing Commander rank.

Desirable Attributes

Candidates with the following attributes will be preferred:

• Experience in planning trials in an EW environment.
• Qualified Instructor (Air or Ground).
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications.
