About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Pharmacist III to join their team. This full-time position involves the preparation, filling, and compounding of sterile and non-sterile medications, including anti-neoplastic agents, in adherence to established pharmacy policies and accepted standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate medication orders for demographic data, appropriateness of therapy, dose, frequency, route, dosage form, interactions, allergies, related laboratory values, and potential drug interactions.
  • Restock, operate, and troubleshoot pharmacy robotic equipment as applicable to different pharmacy areas.
  • Perform professional work in the preparation, filling, compounding, and double-checking of sterile and non-sterile medications relevant to the area of practice.
  • Maintain control and security of all medications, including controlled and narcotic substances and supplies, ensuring dispensing and record-keeping comply with laws and regulations.
  • Pre-package tablets, capsules, and oral liquid medications using available repackaging machines/robotic equipment, maintaining complete required records and appropriate labelling procedures.
  • Check and monitor medication-related activities/performance of new Pharmacist IIIs, pharmacy assistants, residents, trainees, and students with guidance from a senior pharmacist as needed.
  • Order and maintain proper and sufficient inventory of drugs and supplies, regularly monitoring medication expiration dates. Prepare expired medications for disposal and complete electronic disposal requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean working environment, including hoods and countertops.
  • Distribute medications to nursing units when required.
  • Conduct nursing unit/clinic inspections and review outdated pharmacy stocks/supplies on a monthly basis as assigned, maintaining and signing approved forms and records accordingly.
  • Participate in and assist with conducting performance/quality improvement projects.
  • Adhere to all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in self and others' education, training, and development as applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidates should possess 0-1 year of relevant experience.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh and operates on a full-time schedule within a hospital setting.
