The Role of Project Architect

BMC Helix is seeking a Project Architect to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves a lead position in assessing and analyzing customer capabilities, business and technical requirements, and business drivers. The Project Architect is responsible for developing solution architecture and program definitions, ensuring customer success through expert guidance and leadership.

Role Overview and Strategic Impact

As a Project Architect, you will determine customer environmental and personnel suitability and readiness, providing best practice recommendations. This role ensures engagement stability by leveraging extensive technical and leadership experience. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert, the Architect's guidance covers implementation approaches, strategy, integration, deployment, and adoption of best practices to ensure customer success. The Project Architect also functions as a senior coach, mentor, and technical leader for project team members and Consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership and actionable guidance during the sales process to facilitate successful customer conversion and value realization.
  • Lead or participate in small teams comprising BMC, partner, and customer resources at client sites to deliver required outcomes and generate additional business.
  • Create and maintain conversion project artifacts, including conversion methodology presentations, agendas, analysis templates, architecture design documents, test plans, and deployment plans.
  • Establish and periodically review conditions of satisfaction and success factors with customers throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Manage the transition from the Sales to the Delivery Team and conduct comprehensive reviews and clarifications of Statements of Work (SOW) prior to deal closures.
  • Act as a technical lead for rescuing at-risk or endangered projects in collaboration with Sales, Support, and R&D teams.
  • Plan for communication and collaboration among the Customer Team, Account Team, Pre-Sales, Services Sales, and the PMO.
  • Improve the quality and efficiency of solutions delivered to BMC Helix clients to enhance business margins.
  • Lead conversion scoping meetings, including material preparation and collaboration with customers, sales teams, and other key stakeholders.
  • Utilize knowledge and skills to create or improve processes and code programs that support deliverables for competitive replacement sales opportunities or conversion projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certification.
  • Familiarity with various IT management technologies and a working knowledge of IT Operations Management (ITOM).
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in non-BMC technical areas supporting the deployment and integration of BMC-based solutions, including:
    • Advanced Operating Systems (OS)
    • Databases (DB)
    • Storage
    • Virtualization technologies

Experience and Professional Attributes

Candidates should demonstrate a strong background as an individual contributor with the following experience and attributes:

  • Experience as an engagement leader.
  • Technical leadership on at least three projects.
  • Implementation of at least three production solutions.
  • Experience with at least three deployments across Development, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Production environments for a full project lifecycle.
  • Involvement in multiple engagements lasting six months or longer, or experience through an entire project lifecycle.
  • Proven ability as a technical lead in rescuing at-risk or endangered projects.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver quality output with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of enterprise-scale, integrated applications from a process and business perspective.
  • Ability to articulate how BMC Helix solutions align with customer needs.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills at all project team engagement levels, including with C-level executives.
  • Advanced presentation, organization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Advanced leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to escalate issues appropriately when impacting sales opportunities, project delivery, or customer satisfaction.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous skill improvement and proactive pursuit of new learning and engagement opportunities.
  • Adherence to all Ethics and Compliance training and testing requirements.
