About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Project EHS Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires an ARAMCO-approved EHS Manager with a background in Oil and Gas experience. The role focuses on establishing, monitoring, and coordinating health, safety, and environment management systems for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare all EHS-related documents, including EHS plans, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
  • Lead EHS meetings with clients and the project team, and report EHS-related issues to the Head Office.
  • Provide EHS induction training for new workers and conduct daily EHS inspections for assigned zones.
  • Ensure appropriate safe work permits are obtained by Engineers/Supervisors from Clients/Main Contractors.
  • Conduct site-wide risk assessments, informing Site Engineers and/or Clients/Main Contractor of high-risk areas.
  • Ensure weekly toolbox talks are delivered by Engineers to promote EHS awareness among workers.
  • Verify that all personnel wear required personal protective equipment, including helmets, EHS shoes, and coveralls.
  • Ensure equipment such as ladders and scaffolding are in good working condition before use.
  • Maintain satisfactory health and hygiene conditions for workers, including water availability, rest areas, and adequate lighting & ventilation.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping on the project site to prevent incidents/accidents.
  • Conduct Job EHS Analysis for high-risk activities to minimize hazardous conditions and encourage EHS practices among workers and engineers.
  • Investigate minor or major incidents/accidents with engineers, communicate results for future precautions, and administer first-aid or seek medical assistance for worker injuries.
  • Maintain all documentation related to EHS activities.
  • Establish, monitor, appraise, and coordinate upgraded integrated health, safety & environment management systems (conforming to ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards) for construction projects, including improvising procedure manuals and internal audits.
  • Conduct EHS training programs for engineers & workers on-site and participate in HR-organized EHS training programs.
  • Perform hazard identification and risk assessment for critical activities, ensuring findings are incorporated into method statements.
  • Prepare EHS Plans and Environment Management Plans.
  • Coordinate External EHS Audits & Third-Party Inspections of Equipment.
  • Prepare Emergency Preparedness Plans and conduct Emergency Drills.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Work Permit System and coordinate Occupational Health & Welfare measures.
  • Prepare EHS conditions of contract for Sub-contractors.
  • Stop work if unsafe practices are witnessed, promoting a 'don’t walk by' and 'commitment to action' attitude.
  • Carry out monthly project risk management audits and quarterly system audits.
  • Provide EHS reports to the project head and IC Head on current EHS performance status.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ARAMCO-approved EHS Manager.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas sector.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on construction projects within the Oil and Gas industry.
