About the Role

OHC is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join its Projects Department in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional dedicated to upholding the highest standards in construction project execution.

Job Purpose

The QA/QC Engineer will ensure all construction activities align with approved drawings, technical specifications, contract requirements, Saudi Building Code regulations, and OHC's quality standards. This role involves overseeing site inspections, material approvals, testing, managing non-conformances, reporting on quality, and coordinating with various stakeholders to minimize rework and enhance project delivery quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the company's Quality Management System across assigned projects.
  • Prepare, update, and monitor Project Quality Plans.
  • Prepare and review Method Statements in conjunction with project and technical teams.
  • Prepare, review, and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and applicable Saudi Building Code requirements.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and quality walkthroughs.
  • Verify that executed works meet approved drawings, specifications, material submittals, and workmanship standards.
  • Raise, track, and follow up on Inspection Requests.
  • Attend inspections with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor field and laboratory test results and ensure materials are approved before use.
  • Inspect structural, architectural, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP-related works.
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-compliant works or materials and follow up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate with site and subcontractor teams to close observations within approved timelines.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and recommend preventive measures.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports, maintaining inspection records, quality logs, material approvals, test reports, and NCR registers.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Technical Office, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and approved laboratories.
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to quality procedures and project requirements.
  • Support project teams in resolving quality issues.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of QA/QC experience in construction projects.
  • Proven experience in projects such as villas, residential compounds, or multi-storey residential buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and relevant construction standards.
  • Practical experience in inspecting concrete, blockwork, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP works.
  • Experience liaising with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and testing laboratories.
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification is preferred.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is an added advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing ITPs and Method Statements.
  • Proficiency in NCR and CAPA management.
  • Knowledge of inspection procedures for structural, architectural, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP works.
  • Ability to review material submittals, test reports, and technical approvals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and tracking.
  • Familiarity with material approval procedures, laboratory testing, and consultant inspection requirements.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Fluent Arabic and good English communication skills are required.

Work Environment and Requirements

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role requires the ability to conduct regular site inspections, navigate active construction environments, and access various work areas. Candidates must be eligible to work in Saudi Arabia.
