About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Registrar - Dermatology to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves delivering comprehensive dermatological care through both in-person and telemedicine platforms. The role focuses on managing a range of skin conditions under consultant supervision, contributing to clinical governance, and supporting high-quality, patient-centred services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual dermatology consultations for adult and paediatric patients.
  • Diagnose and manage common and complex dermatological conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, infections, and hair and nail disorders.
  • Manage dermatological emergencies and red flag conditions, escalating as necessary.
  • Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans, incorporating topical and systemic therapies.
  • Ensure safe prescribing and monitoring of dermatological medications.
  • Document consultations accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Coordinate follow-up care and referrals when required.
  • Adhere to dermatology clinical guidelines, ethical standards, and telehealth regulations.
  • Ensure patient safety in all clinical interactions, including medication counselling and adverse effect monitoring.
  • Report patient safety incidents and near misses to the Quality department.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and guideline updates.
  • Utilize teledermatology platforms for video, image-based, and synchronous consultations.
  • Ensure high-quality dermatologic assessments using clinical images and patient-reported data.
  • Maintain accurate, secure digital records in compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Communicate diagnoses and management plans clearly and empathetically to patients.
  • Provide counselling on disease course, treatment expectations, and skin care.
  • Address patient concerns and feedback promptly.
  • Collaborate with consultants, primary care physicians, pharmacists, and allied health professionals.

Professional Development and Collaboration

The Registrar is expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge in general dermatology through continuous medical education (CME), workshops, and conferences. This role involves participation in case discussions and academic activities, and supporting the teaching and supervision of junior doctors when required. Collaboration with IT teams to optimize teledermatology workflows is also part of the role.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience. The role requires a physician in advanced specialty training who can deliver comprehensive dermatological care.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Registrar will work within a clinical setting that emphasizes patient safety, quality assurance, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
