About the Senior Accountant Role

ASBIS Middle East is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring precise financial reporting, maintaining compliance with local regulations, and implementing effective financial controls to support business activities.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including month-end and year-end closing, in adherence to IFRS and KSA regulations.
Prepare comprehensive financial statements, management reports, and cash flow forecasts.
Execute invoice processing, expense control, payroll accounting, VAT, Zakat, and other tax reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with Saudi tax laws and regulations, including ZATCA (VAT, Zakat, Corporate Tax) filings and audits.
Oversee accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), inventory accounting, and fixed assets management.
Maintain robust internal controls and provide support for both internal and external audits.
Coordinate effectively with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities.
Support compliance with Saudization (Nitaqat) requirements where applicable.
Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements, automation initiatives, and enhancements to financial systems.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
A professional qualification such as SOCPA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent certification is preferred.
A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a preference for backgrounds in international distribution, FMCG, or trading environments.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

Strong knowledge of KSA accounting standards, VAT, Zakat, and statutory requirements.
Practical experience in dealing with ZATCA, managing audits, and handling regulatory reporting.
Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
Demonstrated high attention to detail, integrity, and strong organizational capabilities.
