Senior Director Commercial (Development Finance)

About the Role

Qiddiya is seeking a Senior Director Commercial (Development Finance) to lead the development finance function for major development, infrastructure, real estate, and strategic investment initiatives. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires over 10 years of experience. The role involves establishing optimal funding strategies, capital structures, and financial solutions to support sustainable growth and value creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of financing strategies for major development programs and projects.
• Oversee financial feasibility studies, business cases, investment analyses, and funding assessments.
• Develop capital structures, financing plans, and funding models to support project delivery and long-term value creation.
• Lead engagement with banks, investors, financial institutions, sovereign entities, and development finance organizations.
• Direct debt raising, refinancing, project finance, and capital market activities as required.
• Evaluate investment opportunities, strategic partnerships, and funding alternatives to optimize financial outcomes.
• Oversee financial modeling, valuation analyses, scenario planning, and sensitivity assessments.
• Monitor portfolio performance, capital deployment, liquidity requirements, and financing risks.
• Provide strategic financial recommendations to executive leadership and governance committees.
• Collaborate with Development, Commercial, Project Delivery, Treasury, Legal, Risk, and Investment teams to support project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with financing agreements, financial governance requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Lead and develop high-performing development finance teams and promote best practices across the organization.

Leadership and Strategic Impact

The Senior Director will provide executive leadership on project financing, investment evaluation, financial feasibility, and capital allocation decisions. This role is critical in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making through effective stakeholder management, financial governance, and innovative financing approaches.

Internal Collaboration

This role requires close collaboration with various internal teams, including the Executive Leadership Team, Development Teams, Commercial Teams, Treasury, Finance and Accounting, Investment Teams, Legal, Risk Management, and Project Delivery Teams.

External Engagement

The Senior Director will engage with a broad range of external stakeholders, including Commercial Banks, Investment Banks, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Development Finance Institutions, Investors, Financial Advisors, Credit Rating Agencies, and Government Authorities.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in development finance, project financing, or a related field.
