About the Role

Team Saudi is seeking a Senior Manager Legislation & Legal Compliance to lead the organization's legislative and legal compliance agenda. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires 5-10 years of experience. The role is responsible for setting the strategic direction for how the organization understands, interprets, and meets its obligations under applicable laws, regulations, and legislative frameworks.

Legislative Strategy and Policy Governance

This role involves setting the strategic direction for legislative interpretation and compliance, ensuring the organization proactively addresses changes in laws and regulations. The Senior Manager will own the organization's legal policy framework, directing the development and evolution of internal policies and procedures to remain ahead of legislative and industry shifts. Key responsibilities include serving as a senior advisor to executive leadership on the strategic implications of new or amended legislation and cultivating relationships with government agencies and regulatory bodies to gain early insight into legislative direction.

Compliance Governance and Legal Oversight

The Senior Manager will design and own the organization's accountability and compliance governance frameworks, defining how legislative responsibilities are assigned and upheld. This includes partnering with executive leadership to integrate legislative and regulatory obligations into organizational strategy and decision-making. The role directs legislative reviews, compliance audits, and gap analyses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. It also involves assessing and mitigating legal risks arising from non-compliance and providing senior legal leadership across enterprise-level initiatives.

Compliance Culture and Capability Building

This position is responsible for defining and sponsoring the organization's strategy for building legal and compliance awareness through purposeful education programs. The Senior Manager will champion a culture of compliance and legal accountability from leadership down, ensuring legislative responsibility is shared across the organization. Guidance and mentorship will be provided to team members to build collective legal and compliance capability, and resources will be overseen to embed legal and compliance knowledge into daily practice.

Risk Management and Executive Reporting

The role encompasses owning the identification and management of enterprise-level legal risks tied to legislative compliance, leading risk assessments and mitigation strategies. Insightful, data-driven reporting on compliance performance will be delivered to executive leadership and governance forums, highlighting risks, trends, and strategic recommendations. Ensuring the integrity and traceability of the organization's legal records, including contracts and audits, is also a key responsibility, alongside establishing frameworks for periodic evaluation of policies and controls.
