About the Role

The Boutique Group is seeking a Senior Room Maintenance professional to join the team at The Red Palace in Riyadh. The Red Palace, a historic landmark built in 1943, has been reimagined as an ultra-luxury boutique hotel, blending timeless elegance with contemporary sophistication. This full-time role is responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (RPM) in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces, including assembling bed frames, touch-up painting, furniture touch-ups, and ensuring hardware/appliances are functional.
  • Inspect and repair grout and caulking, replace light fixtures, and perform minor repairs such as tightening toilet seats and patching wall holes.
  • Address repairs for damaged/cracked surfaces including concrete, plastering, stonework, walls, wallpapers, ceramic tiling, and marble work.
  • Conduct painting and varnishing of all surface walls, floors, facades, ceilings, equipment (indoor/outdoor), doors, windows, timber panels, and furniture, ensuring proper surface preparation and color matching.
  • Carry out spray painting, carpentry repair work, and execute painting works in various areas as per color codes, applying protective coatings.
  • Repair and fix ceiling tiles and plasterboard, apply epoxy paint, and fabricate/repair Gibson, GRC work, and Aluminum materials.
  • Apply wallpaper and perform decorative polishing/painting for furniture, maintaining all wooden works in excellent condition.
  • Respond to guest maintenance requests promptly (within 15 minutes) and ensure high-quality service, considering safety and aesthetics.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of plant rooms, workshops, and related areas.
  • Strictly follow, complete, and update R&M program requirements, including checklists, daily data collection, and logbooks.
  • Implement predictive maintenance planning and cross-train in HVAC and Room Maintenance.
  • Contribute to strategies for maximizing revenue, profitability, cost control, utility consumption control, and departmental expense savings.

Guest Relations and Team Collaboration

  • Address guest service needs professionally, positively, and in a timely manner, acknowledging guests with a smile and friendly greeting.
  • Ensure awareness of guest safety, privacy, and comfort in all interactions.
  • Support co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect, fostering positive and productive working relationships across departments.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Engineering Department, Palace guests, outside contractors, and other departments as necessary.

Quality Assurance and Safety Standards

  • Comply with all quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Adhere to company and department safety and security policies and procedures, ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Report work-related accidents or injuries immediately and use proper equipment, PPE, and lifting procedures to prevent injury.
  • Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing chemicals, utilizing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions, or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
  • Follow policies for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines, completing all required safety training and certifications.
  • Implement property-specific procedures for emergency situations (*, evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters) and understand fire, emergency, and bomb procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas, protection of surrounding areas during painting, and necessary safety precautions when working on scaffolding.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and regulatory standards, conducting regular inspections and taking corrective actions.

Qualifications and Physical Demands

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Capable of moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
  • Capacity to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
