About Buro Happold and the Role

Buro Happold is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves contributing to the design and delivery of high-performance structures and addressing complex engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Structural Engineer in our Riyadh office, you will be responsible for delivering efficient and sustainable designs for a range of high-profile developments, from cultural projects to complex commercial structures. Your duties will include:

Leading the design and delivery of building structures projects, ensuring technical quality and alignment with client and sustainability objectives.
Applying advanced structural analysis and design skills.
Preparing design reports, technical specifications, and presentations.
Coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural solutions seamlessly within overall designs.
Reviewing and supervising work by junior engineers, including providing mentorship.
Engaging in peer reviews and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of technical delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a strong background in structural engineering design and a commitment to delivering efficient engineering solutions. Essential qualifications include:

A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master’s level degree is preferred.
Chartered status or actively working towards chartership with a recognized professional body (*, IStructE, ICE).
A minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering design within a consultancy environment.
A strong understanding of regional and international building codes and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong client relationships.

Technical Proficiency

Proficiency in relevant design and analysis tools is required for this role. This includes experience with software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RAM Concept, and Robot.
