Social Work Supervisor

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Social Work Supervisor. This full-time role involves overseeing the operational activities and programs of the Social Work Department/section to ensure they effectively meet the needs of patients, the patient care team, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of Social Workers, including establishing schedules and assigning work to meet changing requirements.
• Provide input to the Department Head regarding the performance of Social Workers.
• Manage the charity fund as assigned, disbursing financial assistance to eligible patients and preparing disbursement reports.
• Design orientation programs and competency checklists for new Social Workers, supervising their performance and progress.
• Oversee Social Worker Intern activities in coordination with the relevant University Supervisor.
• Maintain awareness of Hospital policies and procedures among Social Workers and recommend revisions or new departmental policies.
• Ensure effective communication with the patient care team, other staff, and Social Workers regarding departmental services.
• Recommend corrective actions and improvements for departmental activities.
• Review caseload studies, case plans, and referrals to outside resources, ensuring adequate documentation and follow-up in patient social files and ICIS.
• Supervise the daily operation of the morgue and patient Hospitality building, ensuring adherence to CBAHI standards and KFSH&RC policies.
• Provide information to Social Workers regarding community-based support organizations and encourage their utilization.
• Supervise the performance of recreational therapists, ensuring adequate coverage, quality recreational activities, and availability of necessary items in the playroom.
• Adhere to all Hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in self and others' education, training, and development.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related discipline is required.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience with a Master’s Degree, or five (5) years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, is required. The total experience range for this role is 5-10 years.

Certifications

• Current Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
