Software Engineer II Android

About the Role

Delivery Hero is seeking a Software Engineer II - Android to join the Fulfillment team in Riyadh. This is a temporary position for an individual contributor who is also a strong team player, with 2-5 years of experience in software development.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay informed on current software development methodologies to deliver optimal software solutions.
• Analyze product requirements to understand engineering needs, assess technical feasibility, estimate effort, and provide solutions in collaboration with the Product Team.
• Support the development of components and manage programming of solution elements to accurately translate requirements into functional software.
• Document all coding steps to ensure clarity and facilitate future modifications and maintenance.
• Write unit, integration, and UI/Snapshot tests.
• Investigate and resolve issues and bugs through patches and other methods.
• Collaborate with colleagues on code reviews and deliver corresponding reports.
• Perform functional and module testing to ensure the functionality of delivered solutions.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on product development, recommending improvements as needed.
• Assist in user trials and acceptance testing.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, with practical knowledge of design patterns and algorithms.
• Proficiency in Kotlin as a primary development language is preferred; Java experience is also acceptable.
• Demonstrated experience in writing high-quality, testable code and proficiency with modern mobile architectures.
• In-depth knowledge of the mobile engineering lifecycle for fragments and activities.
• Practical experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM or Kanban).
• Proven track record of contributing to the development of complex systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with strong prioritization skills and experience with versioning tools such as Git.
• Experience with and understanding of Modern Android Development approaches and practices.
• Understanding of Modular App Architecture.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to write new modules using maintainable architecture.
